North Carolina Fishing Pier Society
2006 World Tour - Page 3

When we got to Oceana Pier we found out Sportsaman's Pier was still operational and so we added it to the tour. It will be opened until the end of August and if you should fish this pier while you can. The first one is the pier house and the second is a shot of the pier from the famous T. We went to Cedar Island past Cape Lookout and stayed the night and had dinner at the Driftwood Motel, the ribs were great.

The first picture is on the Cedar Island Ferry to Ocracoke a 2 hour trip. We went up Core Banks Island past the ghost town of Portsmouth and into Ocracoke. The second is Chris in front of the lighthouse at Ocraocke and the third is the ferry  over to Hatteras Island.

Chris and I at the Frisco Pier and we hit a wonderful  run of Croaker between storms. We caught 48 on that pier, but they would have spent too long in the cooler to make thier way to Roadkilllal's Fish Recipe Site so we let them go. We caught them on shrmp tipped with Fishbites. The we then did laundry at the Avon Motel

One of the first things we crave when we hit the North Carolina Coast is steamed blue crabs and the one of the best place to get them is The Mad Crabber in Avon. We asked for Texas Pete and she recognized us as professionals and brought out the really big bottles. The next day we fished the Avon Pier and caught some nice bluefish on Gotchas, spot, croaker and Chris caught an almost keeper flounder.
