North Carolina Fishing Pier Society
2006 World Tour - Page 5

With the last pier fished and a good nights sleep we headed home and over 1200 miles later our journey was over.We walked over 16000 feet of piers and we caught 174 fish.

Okuma Fishing sent me hats a few years ago and they became our first sponsor so it was fitting that I retired my Okuma hat by attaching something (mostly admission tickets) from each pier.
While this was an awesome, fantastic trip there is a very sad side to it. We fished 20 piers. The number of piers left in North Carolina is going to be a lot less in a relatively short period of time. Sportsman's is likely to be gone before fall. Others are likely to follow before next year. You need to get out there this summer and enjoy as many as you can while you can.
